Tourism technology, built by us.
Six projects shipped by Charnette Labs — different shapes of tourism technology, all built by the same hands, for the trade we know best.
Charnette Labs builds for tourism — our own ventures and the operators we work with. Each project below is live, in production, and shipped by Graeme. The same hands that ship these will ship for you.
Famous Africa
A Durban-based travel designer building bespoke luxury journeys across Africa, the Indian Ocean and Antarctica — a founder-led site where the planning starts as a conversation, not a cart.
- Thirteen destination guides across East Africa, Southern Africa, the Indian Ocean and Antarctica, each linked on to its neighbours
- A month-by-month “best time to travel” panel on every destination, so the seasonal question is answered before the enquiry
- Six signature journeys — Zambia, East Africa, a private Madagascar photographic tour, culture, the Namaqualand flowers and Antarctica
- Day-by-day detail deliberately left off the page: the itinerary comes from Colette, shaped around the people travelling
- An enquiry that asks for preferences, budget and timing — no documents, no payment details — with WhatsApp and email alongside it
- TravelAgency and destination structured data plus an llms.txt, so Google and AI assistants have something citable
Confidence Africa Tours
A Kampala-based, locally owned operator selling gorilla trekking, primates and birding across Uganda and Rwanda — an editorial site built around the way they actually guide.
- 25 itineraries across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania, each with day-by-day routing and a map that traces the trip park to park
- Eleven destination guides and seven experience pages, so a traveller can browse by place or by what they came to see
- Seasonal “when to go” panels built from verified climate normals — month-by-month, per destination, rather than a generic best-time paragraph
- Enquiry-led planning flow with WhatsApp and direct phone alongside it — the trip starts as a conversation, not a checkout
- Trips, destinations and guides managed by the team through their own admin, without touching code
- Fast, mobile-first, and built to be found by Google and modern AI search
Kusa Connect
Graeme’s own UK representation firm — 16 properties across four luxury African travel brands, and the website and app we built for it.
- Custom content system for brand and property fact sheets, document libraries, and seasonal pricing — managed without touching code
- Built to be found by both Google and modern AI search assistants — structured data, machine-readable summaries, a defined-term glossary
- Brand-by-brand portfolio pages with consistent UK trade framing
- Resilient contact flow with same-day reply tracking — never miss a trade enquiry
- Designed to convert qualified UK trade enquiry, not consumer traffic
Wildtouch Tours & Travel
Bespoke, privately guided safaris across Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda — an editorial brand site that sells the experience.
- Immersive, editorial homepage and destination pages — built to sell tailor-made safari, not commodity packages
- Safari-type and gallery sections that present the product the way guests and the trade actually browse it
- Enquiry-led, not a consumer booking engine — designed to turn interest into a tailored-itinerary conversation
- Fast, mobile-first, and built to be found by Google and modern AI search
The Annual Africa Tourism Evening
Graeme’s own closed evening for the UK luxury Africa tourism community — and the event platform and native apps we built to run it.
- One-time passcode sign-in — no passwords, no friction at the door
- Booking matrix engineered so over-booking is structurally impossible
- Apple Wallet boarding passes, pushable straight to attendees from the organiser dashboard
- Badge and lanyard print system — A6 portrait in a clean A4 grid, with smart QR codes that adapt by attendee role
- Companion native iOS and Android apps for attendees
- Live financial dashboard, broadcast email centre, and event analytics — all in one organiser view
RepBud
The sales companion app for travel-trade reps. A mobile-first CRM that fits how the trade actually sells.
- Mobile-first CRM built for the rhythm of trade sales — meetings, FAM trips, trade-show conversations, follow-ups
- Live billing across five tiers — Premium Economy through First Class plus Charter team plans (5- and 10-seat)
- AI-assisted meeting preparation and intelligent post-meeting recap
- Team management for representation companies — Captain, First Officer, Cabin Directors
- Apple Wallet boarding-pass-style RepBud Real membership cards plus vCard contact sharing
- Native iOS and Android apps with a parallel web dashboard for managers
